Arsenal legend Ray Parlour comes up with an advice to the Gunners’ star man, who is struggling to make an impact this season.

Arsenal had yet another night to forget last evening, failing to find the net in the goalless draw at home against Crystal Palace.

It was also another disappointing game for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has scored only three goals in 16 Premier League appearances this season.

This seems to be by far the worst campaign for the Gabon international in the past five years. Since 2015/16 Aubameyang has managed to score at least 20 league goals each season.

Former midfielder Ray Parlour believes there is a particular reason, for the Gunners’ captain’s bad run.

“I just think he’s going through a bad spell, he’s doing the best he can,” he said via Metro. “Maybe he just has to roam a little bit more as a player.

“At times he’s always on that left-hand side. I’d like to see him do what Eze did in the first half, go across into the middle at times and get into areas where he can be dangerous.

“That might really upset the defenders you’re playing against. At the moment, he’s pretty straightforward to play against, Aubameyang because you know exactly where he’s going to run, you know where he’s going to go.

“He’s going to cut inside on his right foot and he’s probably easy to mark at the moment for defenders. I’d like to see the movement a little bit better. I can see exactly where he’s going to run. At times, when he was bang in form he’d pop up in little areas where you didn’t expect him to pop up.

“In the cup final where he scored that wonderful second goal, he was on the edge of the box in a really good area. He had moved into an area where he picked the ball up and then it was all about his class.”
