Arsenal have reached agreement with Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari to sign for the club on a permanent basis.

Arsenal were quick to complete the permanent signings of Soares and Mari after both players impressed over the past few months.

The pair initially joined the club on loan deals in January but both players are said to have impressed Mikel Arteta.

Pablo Mari was gradually becoming a regular in defense for Arsenal until an ankle injury stopped his stride.

The Brazilian is ruled out with injury until November but that didn’t stop the Gunners from being convinced about his abilities.

Cedric Soares marked his Gunners debut with a goal on that occasion and has featured a couple more times since the restart.

Ahead of next season, Arsenal announced that they have tied down both players to permanent deals.

A statement on the club’s website read: “Spanish defender Pablo signs from Brazilian side Flamengo. He made three appearances for us before his ankle injury during the Premier League match at Manchester City – the first fixture after the restart.”

“Portuguese defender Cedric joins us permanently from Southampton, where he appeared over 100 times.”

“We welcome both Pablo and Cedric to the club on a permanent basis and look forward to their continued contributions.”

“Both deals are subject to the completion of regulatory processes.”

Arsenal’s season begins early when they take on Liverpool in the Community Shield on Saturday.
