Marseille are reportedly in talks with Arsenal over Mateo Guendouzi as they look to sign the Frenchman on a season-long loan.

The Gunners have been keen on selling Guendouzi throughout the transfer window and offered him to a host of clubs across Europe.

Interest in the former Lorient midfielder has been low and he remains an Arsenal player in the final week of the window. The 21-year-old is also believed to be inclined to leaving the club should the right offer arrive

After the incident at Brighton in the previous campaign, he was not included in a single matchday squad for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said that all his players started the 2020/21 with a clean slate but Guendouzi has remained on the sidelines so far. He is yet to play a single minute of football for the North London side this season.

Marseille have made contact with Arsenal and want to sign the midfielder on loan, according to French media outlet Telefoot Chaine.

Arsenal, however, have told Marseille that they will only consider selling Guendouzi and are not willing to let him leave on loan.

The Gunners have already attempted to offer the 21-year-old to Lyon as part of their bid to sign Houssem Aouar but the French club refused.

The Gunners also did the same with Atletico Madrid as they offered Guendouzi in a bid to sign Thomas Partey. Once again, the offer was rejected.

With the transfer window ending on October 5, time is running out for Arsenal to decide what they want to do with the out-of-favor star.
