The Gunners could sell one of their most promising forwards amid intensified competition in their attacking line.
Arsenal are reportedly demanding £50m for Florian Balogun, who is set to return to north London after an impressive loan spell at Stade de Reims.
The American forward quickly developed into a key player at the Ligue 1 side, scoring 22 goals in his 39 appearances. The Gunners, however, seem to be open to selling him ahead of the next campaign.
According to Mirror, Balogun’s valuation has increased from £35m to £50m after his wonderful spell at Reims. Arsenal might reportedly sell the youngster to generate funds after making big-money moves for Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Jurrien Timber.
In addition to Balogun, Nicolas Pepe, midfielder Albert Sambi-Lokonga, full-back Cedric Soares, and defender Nuno Tavares, are also reportedly being considered for summer exits. All four players spent last season out on loan and had mixed performances away from North London.
Balogun has revealed his desire to either play for Arsenal in the upcoming season or leave the club on a permanent basis. “What I can say is that I definitely won’t go on loan again,” the 22-year-old said last month (via Evening Standard).
“I’m not sure about the discussions that are going to take place, I’m not sure what’s going to happen.”
There is considerable interest in Balogun, with Crystal Palace, AC Milan, Inter, RB Leipzig, and Napoli all reportedly keen on securing his services. However, the Gunners are yet to receive a formal offer for the USMNT star.
