Another chapter in the North London rivalry was added as Arsenal signed central defender Jonathan Dinzeyi from Tottenham.

Harry Kane was released by Arsenal at a young age. The England captain still remembers his ousting and grudges against the Gunners.

Sol Campbell presents a different arc to this rivalry. The no-nonsense defender swapped Tottenham for Arsenal after coming through the Spurs youth academy. He now has company with Jonathan Dinzeyi following in his footsteps.

The young defender has left Tottenham and will be plying his trade at the Emirates Stadium. This news comes after a fortnight of Jan Vertonghen ending his association with Spurs.

Dinzeyi will join the Arsenal U23 squad. The young defender was pleased with becoming a part of Mikel Arteta’s exciting project where youth are given a chance.

“It’s a great feeling. Arsenal is a massive club and they were actually the first club I supported as a child,” Dinzeyi told Arsenal.com

“They have a great history and with the new manager coming in who likes to play a lot of young players, I think it’s a great opportunity for me to show the fans and the coaching staff what I’m about. I’m really excited to get started now.”

Reflecting on his own playing style, the young defender shared he is comfortable on the ball and likes tackle.

“I’m a ball-playing centre half. I love to tackle and win headers and keeping clean sheets for me is vital. If I don’t then it really hurts me. I just love doing my job,” the 20-year-old added.
