The Gunners have confirmed Aubameyang’s absence and offered updates on three other players for Tuesday’s match.
Arsenal have confirmed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is out of the squad for the trip to Southampton on Tuesday night for ‘personal family reasons’.
The 31-year-old missed last weekend’s 1-0 FA Cup defeat at St. Mary’s for undisclosed reasons. Mikel Arteta only stated his absence was down to ‘personal reasons’ and the manager offered no further information in Monday’s pre-match conference.
The Gunners have now confirmed the skipper’s absence, along with midfielder Dani Ceballos and center-back Pablo Mari. In a brief statement, the club disclosed Aubameyang’s absence as down to ‘personal family reasons’.
Ceballos and Mari, meanwhile, are both recovering from calf injuries, while Arsenal’s medical staff are still assessing full-back Kieran Tierney for discomfort in his right lower leg.
