The Gunners returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a crushing victory at Emirates.

Arsenal defeated Sheffield United 5-0 in their Premier League game on Saturday. A dominant display in the second half was enough to ensure the Gunners’ massive win.

What happened?

Arsenal struggled to establish their dominance early on as Sheffield managed to keep them at bay with a few counter-attacks. However, the Gunners finally took the lead when Eddie Nketiah scored their opener in the 28th minute.

The Gunners failed to extend their lead before the break, but Nketiah scored their second goal only five minutes into the second half. The English striker smashed a poor corner clearance from Wes Foderingham to double his side’s lead.

Only eight minutes later, Nketiah completed his sensational hat-trick to make it 3-0 for the hosts. Arsenal’s attacks continued after the goal, as Sheffield had already given up on mounting a comeback.

Arsenal’s fourth goal came in the 88th minute when Fabio Vieira converted a penalty for Mikel Arteta’s side. Takehiro Tomiyaso then put the icing on the cake for the Gunners when he made it 5-0 with a clever finish just before the full-time whistle.
