The 19-year-old was forced off near the final 20 minutes during the outing at Bramall Lane, leaving the Gunners sweating over another injury setback.

Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United in the Premier League on Sunday, with Alexandre Lacazette and Gabriel Martinelli getting on the scoresheet.

In an otherwise fantastic evening, Bukayo Saka’s injury proved to be the only cause of concern for Mikel Arteta.

Saka started the match but couldn’t last for more than 69 minutes on the pitch. The youngster dropped to the ground in pain clutching his left thigh after suffering what appeared to be a muscle injury.

Unable to continue even after receiving treatment on the pitch, he limped off the pitch and was replaced by Willian. The England international seen in the stands with ice taped to his thigh.

“He had some discomfort in his thigh,” Arteta told in his post match press conference, via Football London.

“I don’t know what it is. I hope no, but the last thing we need is another attacking midfielder with another issue.”

The extent of Saka’s problem remains to be know, but Arsenal will be desperately hoping him to be available for Thursday’s decisive Europa Leagie quarter-final second-leg clash against Sparta Prague.

Arteta added: “I don’t know the extent. Let’s see how Bukayo develops in the next few days.”
