The Gunners will be without two of their key players in the Premier League outing on the weekend – and possibly for much longer.

Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney are set to miss Arsenal’s outing against Leeds United on Sunday.

Partey, who joined the club from Atletico Madrid over the summer, limped off during the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa, and Arsenal have now confirmed a hamstring injury for the player. The midfielder has already missed ten matches this season.

Tierney, meanwhile, who has not participated in the last five matches across all competitions for the north London side, is nearing his return to action with the club hopeful he could join first-team training next week.

Arsenal have managed a single victory in their last five matches in all competitions, and the influential duo’s absence could prove further fatal.

A report on the official club website read: “Thomas sustained a strain to his left hamstring during last Saturday’s match at Aston Villa and will miss the match against Leeds United on Sunday. Thomas will continue to be assessed and rehabilitate from this injury.

“Kieran is recovering well from a strain to the right lower leg and is aiming to integrate back into training next week.”
