The Arsenal boss, who has worked closely with both players, is happy to have Odegaard in his team.

Arsenal defeated Leeds United with a 4-1 result on Saturday. The Gunners displayed an incredible attacking performance as they clinched their third victory in a row.

Martin Odegaard did an impressive job of balancing the offensive and defensive phases of Arsenal’s game with his versatility. The midfielder’s performances in recent weeks have generated comparisons between him and Manchester City legend David Silva.

In a post-match interview, Arteta spoke about the two players.

“That’s a big name,” the Arsenal manager replied (via football.london). “My opinion is the player [Silva] is the best I’ve seen playing between the lines for the last 20 years.

“Martin has a big capacity to unlock situations. I’m really happy. He’s improving now in his goal threat as well. He’s very willing to become one of the best but it’s still very early.”

Arteta joined City as Pep Guardiola’s assistant in 2016, spending three years at the club. The coach is slowly pushing Arsenal toward their best form, despite the recent controversies in his squad.

A host of ambitious young talents have returned Arsenal to the top four. Despite his quiet start to the season, Odegaard has recently regained his best form. In his last five games, the Norway international has scored three goals in provided an assist for the Gunners.

Arsenal will meet Sunderland in a Carabao Cup game on Tuesday before facing Norwich in the league five days later.
