After an impressive performance against Leicester City from the club’s new striker, Ian Wright is feeling positive about the future.
Gabriel Jesus is off his leash and ready to cause Premier League defenders mayhem, according to Arsenal legend Ian Wright.
The 25-year-old striker has been a breath of fresh air in the Gunners’ attack since his €52.2 million summer arrival from Manchester City.
He had an outstanding home debut last weekend by supplying two goals and two assists to help Arsenal defeat Leicester 4-2. The result preserved the club’s winning start to the new Premier League season.
“He could have scored four goals the way he was playing!” Wright said on his podcast Wrighty’s House.
After being heavily rotated at City for five and a half years, Wright has suggested Jesus can unlock his full potential at Arsenal.
“We are now seeing a No.9 who has been let off the leash in respect of, ‘go and cause f*****g mayhem!’,” the Gunners’ second-highest goalscorer of all time added.
Jesus hopes to get on the scoresheet again on Saturday when Arsenal take a trip to Bournemouth.
