Kieran Tierney is already making quite an impression at Arsenal and has the mold of a future Gunners captain, says club legend Martin Keown.

Kieran Tierney is an Arsenal captain in the making and has even been told to calm down in training due to his ‘ferocious’ tackling, claims Martin Keown.

The Gunners extended their winning streak to three games on Saturday night with a 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, and the Scotsman delivered the opener.

An exquisite dribble from the left saw Tierney arrive in the penalty area before whipping a right-foot shot beyond Sam Johnstone. The resulting celebrations showed just how much the Scotsman is loved among his teammates.

Even when Arsenal’s form was in decline, the left-back was a standout performer for Mikel Arteta with reliable displays and an impressive attitude.

He was always attempting to rallying the Gunners and his character is certainly impressing one club legend.

Keown told BT Sport via Mirror: “Right from the beginning I could see there was a determination about him.”

“He’s just the right type that you need… his personality, character.”

“He’s a driving force and he’s a throwback.”

“In training, they have to tell him to calm down because he’s tackling ferociously. I really like that attitude that he brings.”

“He has got everything in his game, it’s about building around him. Perhaps an Arsenal captain in the making.”

Tierney has been a shining light for the Gunners and continues to make a name for himself as one of the top left-backs in the league.
