Alexander Isak has attracted interest from the two north London rivals.

Arsenal are keen to add a new striker to their ranks in the upcoming transfer window. The Gunners were planning to sign Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic, but the player has reportedly turned down their offer.

According to Eurosport, the north London side will join their arch-rivals Tottenham in the race to sign Alexander Isak.
Since his 2019 move from Borussia Dortmund, the Swedish striker has established himself as a key player at Real Sociedad. His mixture of pace and great technical ability has attracted interest from several top clubs.

Arsenal will most likely lose Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah next summer. The Gunners might add Isak to their ranks this January to be prepared for the pair’s exit.

If Arsenal secure a move for Isak, it will mark their second transfer race victory over Spurs in the past two windows. The Gunners signed Takehiro Tomiyasu, who was also in negotiation with Tottenham. Arsenal will surely hope Isak would turn out as good as Tomiyasu did.

Isak has featured in 16 games for Sociedad as they sit third in La Liga. With several top clubs eyeing moves for Erling Haaland, others have started looking for different options. Transfermarkt has valued the 22-year-old at £36m, a cheaper alternative for clubs not interested in the bidding wars to come.
