The Gunners have a crucial forward back in their squad ahead of the Europa League game.
Gabriel Jesus returned to Arsenal’s team training on Wednesday.
Jesus had to undergo surgery after picking up a knock during the World Cup in November. However, his speedy recovery has helped him return to full training sooner than expended.
Arsenal confirmed Jesus participated in their last training session ahead of the Europa League clash against Sporting Lisbon.
Jesus hasn’t played for the Gunners since their 2-0 win over Wolves in November. Since then, Mikel Arteta has used several attacking setups to cover for the Brazilian’s absence.
The Gunners spent £50 million last summer to sign Jesus from Manchester City. Their clever decision paid off when the Brazil international made a fantastic start to the season, helping the Gunners reach the Premier League’s top spot.
Jesus’ injury raised serious concerns over Arsenal’s depth upfront after the World Cup. However, thanks to new signings and the brilliant form of other Arsenal attackers, the Gunners have managed to hold on to their place at the top of the table.
Jesus’ comeback is a huge squad boost for Arsenal as they prepare for a busier schedule in the next few weeks. The former City star could return to action against Sporting, but Mikel Arteta will most likely avoid starting him until the Gunners meet Fulham on Sunday.
