The Gunners were left sweating after Gabriel Magalhaes came off with an apparent injury woe during Brazil’s most recent match.

Gabriel Magalhaes did not suffer an injury during Brazil’s World Cup qualifier against Bolivia.

Last Friday, the Arsenal defender came off in the closing stages of his Selecao debut for Roger Ibanez. He sat out with an ice pack strapped to his right thigh, as Brazil cruised to a 5-1 victory in Belem.

According to Globo Esporte, Gabriel complained of ‘muscle pain’, but scans have revealed he has no injury. The report adds the decision to substitute him was more of a precaution than anything else.

In fact, Fernando Diniz may even award Gabriel with his second cap for Tuesday’s trip to Peru. The Brazil manager is considering using the same XI that thrashed Bolivia last week.

This turnaround would be a welcome boost for Gabriel, who returned to the Arsenal line-up in the club’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United last time out.

With Thomas Partey out injured, Ben White could start as a right-back again when Arsenal return to action on Sunday away to Everton. This might pave the way for Gabriel to start alongside William Saliba in central defense.
