The Gunners are keen to add a new central midfielder to their ranks in the near future.
Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Fulham’s Joao Palhinha amid interest from Bayern Munich.
Plhinha was one of Bayern’s main targets during the summer transfer window. The German giants were on the verge of completing a transfer for Palhinha on the deadline day, but Fulham’s failure to find a replacement kept the Portuguese midfielder at Craven Cottage.
Widespread reports in German media have confirmed that Bayern have retained their interest in signing Palhinha. However, they might face competition from a number of Premier League clubs in their next attempt to bring him to Allianz Arena.
“What I can confirm about Palhinha, this was around the media in the recent days, is that there are also English clubs interested in Palhinha, and one of those clubs is Arsenal,” Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano said on Kick.
“It is true that Arsenal appreciate the player. There are some people at the club who consider Palhinha a very good player. It’s one of the players they discussed internally.”
Arsenal’s £105m investment in signing Declan Rice has paid off this season as the Gunners continue their quest to win the Premier League for the first time since 2004. Let’s see if Mikel Arteta will complete another big-money move to bolster his side’s midfield line.
