Arsenal are keen to sign Arthur Melo on a loan deal this January.

Having spent a busy summer transfer window, Arsenal are ready to continue their rebuilding plan this January.

Mikel Arteta’s side have shown significant signs of improvement lately, securing a place Among the Premier League‘s top four. However, Arsenal are still scanning the market to deepen their squad’s depth for the second half of the campaign.

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal are eyeing a move for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo. The Italian outlet claims the Gunners are keen to sign the Brazilian on a loan deal.

Since his controversial move to Juventus in June 2020, Arthur has failed to live up to expectations at the club. The 25-year-old has featured in four league games for the Bianconeri this season, starting only one of them.

However, in addition to Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla are also weighing up a move for Arthur. On the other hand, the Brazilian might still struggle to get game time at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard in the position, which will make it hard for Arthur to play regularly.

Arsenal climbed to fourth place on the table after a precious 2-0 win over West Ham on Wednesday. The Gunners will now have the difficult task of retaining the spot ahead of them, which will require great squad depth.

Arteta’s side will face Leeds United on Saturday before meeting Sunderland in a Carabao Cup game three days later.
