Bukayo Saka met the legendary former Arsenal manager after a Premier League match against West Ham United last December.

Tim Lewis, the executive vice-chair of Arsenal, recently shared some advice that legendary former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger gave to Bukayo Saka.

This exchange happened after Arsenal’s 3-1 Boxing Day victory over West Ham. Wenger attended the game at the Emirates as a spectator. It was his first return to the club in over four years. He later greeted the players and staff in the dressing room.

Saka, who scored Arsenal’s equalizer in the game, was thrilled to finally meet Wenger. During their first-ever interaction, the winger wasted no time at all. He asked the Frenchman how he could improve right away.

“Bukayo didn’t know him but he called him ‘boss’ immediately,” Lewis told The Telegraph about Wenger and Saka’s chat.

“He said, ‘Boss, how can I improve?’ – [and] Arsene very dryly said, ‘I think you could use your right foot a bit more.'”

In 2022/23, Saka was an integral part of Arsenal’s challenge for the Premier League. The 21-year-old had the most prolific season of his career to date. He managed 14 goals and 11 assists in 38 league games.

The England international is currently on tour in the USA with the Arsenal squad.
