The Arsenal duo are in negotiations to sign new contracts at Emirates.

Mikel Arteta has ruled out concerns over Bukayo Saka and William Saliba’s future at Arsenal.

The Gunners reached an agreement to sign a new long-term contract with Gabriel Martinelli recently. While in negotiations with the Brazil international, Arsenal signed one-year extensions with both Saka and Saliba.

The two Arsenal stars won’t become free agents next summer, but their short contract will surely attract interest from other clubs.

The Gunners have reportedly started talks with both players but they are yet to reach agreements on new contracts.

Asked whether he believes the two stars will sign longer deals at Emirates, Arteta said on Friday: “Yeah, they will do. In the same way we dealt with Gabi, we’ll deal with the rest.

“Things need time sometimes but we are delighted with the news of Gabi obviously.”

Saliba has formed a solid defensive partnership alongside Gabriel this season. The Brazilian star has secured his starting place in Arsenal’s backline, with Arteta praising his quick development at Etihad.

“Not only his performances, but I think the way he’s evolving,” the Spanish boss added. “I think he’s getting better in every phase of play and everything that we demand him to do. His leadership in the team, his mentality as well.

“I think he’s come a long way since he joined the club.”
