Just days before their decisive final fixtures of the Premier League season, Arsenal and Manchester City have revealed their new home kits for the 2024-25 season.

Arsenal’s New Kit: A Nod to History

Arsenal, trailing City by two points, have brought back a beloved piece of their history: the cannon. For the first time since the 1989-90 season, the iconic cannon replaces the traditional club badge on the chest. This design choice harks back to the club’s origins at the Royal Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, south London.

The new shirt, produced by Adidas, maintains the classic red torso and white sleeves. However, it introduces a subtle tile effect on the white panels for added flair. The trim has shifted from last season’s gold to dark blue, extending down to the predominantly white shorts, evoking a “2006 World Cup” aesthetic.

Manchester City’s Kit: Celebrating Local Heritage

Manchester City’s new kit, designed by Puma, draws inspiration from local heritage, featuring the “0161” dialing code in the trim details, a nod to Manchester’s identity. The launch video even included a performance by Mancunian rapper Tays. The kit’s design features flash details down each side, breaking up the block sky blue, making it unmistakably City.

The Title Race Finale

Both teams will don these new kits next season, but the question of which one will be worn by the reigning Premier League champions remains. Arsenal must win against Everton and hope City falter against West Ham to claim their first title since 2003-04.

As fans await Sunday’s matches, the unveiling of these kits adds another layer of excitement to an already thrilling title race.
