The London clubs have settled on an agreement for Jorginho ahead of a transfer deadline-day deal.
Arsenal and Chelsea have agreed on a £12 million transfer fee for Jorginho.
That’s according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who adds that Jorginho has accepted personal terms with Arsenal. He will sign a contract at the Emirates until June 2024. The deal includes an option for another 12 months.
Arsenal approached Chelsea on Monday after two failed bids for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. Mikel Arteta was a key factor behind the move. The Gunners manager wants a new holding midfielder as cover for Thomas Partey, with Mohamed Elneny out with a knee injury.
The Premier League leaders previously offered Brighton a reported £60 million last Friday and £70 million on Sunday for Caicedo. They have also just loaned 19-year-old winger Marquinhos to Norwich City for six months.
