Arsenal stayed at the top of the Premier League table after a last-minute winner from Reiss Nelson.

Mikel Arteta has praised Reiss Nelson for his fantastic performance in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Bournemouth.

Bournemouth shocked the hosts with a goal in the tenth second before doubling their lead in the second half. However, the Gunners managed to get back into the game through goals from Thomas Partey and Ben White.

Nelson, who had set up White for the second goal, completed Arsenal’s sensational victory with a stunning strike in the 97th minute.

“It was madness from the first second. We kept trying and dominating the game. We had a mountain to climb and we took it bit by bit,” he told BBC Match of the Day.

“We had the hunger to go for the first goal. From then the atmosphere changed. Reiss hasn’t featured much because he has been injured.

“He comes on and puts in that performance. It was incredible to experience the emotion with the crowd. It’s going to stick with us.

“I am going to remember this day for a few things. I loved the initiative, the courage, their personality, and the way they made things happen.”

The victory keeps Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, five points above Manchester City. The Gunners will take on Sporting CP in the Europa League on Friday before meeting Fulham in their next league match.
