Arsenal continue their revenge tour with a dominant victory over their city rivals.

Arsenal defeated Tottenham in their Premier League game on Saturday. A thrilling London derby saw the Gunners reclaim the Premier League top spot at Etihad.

Both sides pushed for early breakthroughs while Arsenal slowly established their dominance over possession.

Following a few missed chances, Thomas Partey broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 20th minute. The Ghana star rifled a sublime shot behind Hugo Lloris from the edge of the box to put the Gunners ahead. 

Tottenham bounced back quickly, equalizing the game through a Harry Kane penalty only ten minutes later.

Arsenal immediately pushed to restore their lead but had to wait until the second period to score their next goal. Following a poor clearance from Lloris, Gabriel Jesus converted the rebound to make it 2-1 for the Gunners.

Tottenham hoped for another quick equalizer, but Emerson Royal’s red card just after the hour-mark changed the course of the game.

Arsenal re-established their dominance in midfield, making several chances to stretch their lead. Their efforts paid off when a brilliant piece of build-up play led to their third goal of the night.

Arsenal reach the top of the Premier League table ahead of their return to the Europa League this week. Arteta’s men will face Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.
