Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put his recent struggles in front of goal behind him as he scored twice in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Newcastle.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continued his good run of form against Newcastle with a brace in his side’s 3-0 victory at the Emirates.

It was the second time the Gunners were facing the Magpies in 2021.

Arsenal needed extra time to secure a 2-0 victory over Newcastle in the FA Cup. There was to be none of that on Monday night when Mikel Arteta’s men welcomed their opponents to the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta had Kieran Tierney back in his starting line-up after the Scot had missed last week’s draw with Crystal Palace. Summer signing Thomas Partey was also back in the starting lineup after making his return from injury as a substitute against the Eagles.

Aubameyang literally missed a sitter in the first half when he guided Saka’s low strike back across goal and off the far post with the net just inches away from a simple tap-in.

However, he Arsenal captain would make amends in the second half when he made a smart finish past Karl Darlow after a brilliant pass from Thomas Partey.

Two of Arsenal’syoung guns combined for their second goal when Emile Smith-Rowe made a darting run down the flank and found Bukayo Saka who fired home an easy finish.

Aubameyang then got his second of the night when Cedric Soares just about kept the ball from going out of play and sent in a swift pass to the Gabonese inside the box. The Arsenal captain had an easy tap-in for his fifth league goal of the season.

The result means Steve Bruce’s side have now gone nine games without a win in all competitions. On the other hand, Arsenal have kept five successive clean sheets as their upturn in form continues.
