A fantastic comeback in the second period saw Arsenal claim another crucial victory at Emirates.

Arsenal defeated Bournemouth 3-2 in their Premier League game on Saturday. A five-goal thriller at Emirates saw the Gunners maintain their place at the top of the league table.

Late drama at Emirates!

Bournemouth stunned the Gunners with a first-minute goal through Philip Billing. But Arsenal weren’t able to make a quick response to the goal as they struggled to find their feet in the game.

The Gunners dominated the possession throughout the second period. However, they lacked enough attacking edge to create enough serious chances.

The hosts’ situation got worse when the Cherries doubled their lead in the 57th minute. Marcos Sensei smashed a powerful header behind Aaron Ramsdale to make it 2-0 for the visitors.

However, Arsenal came back into the game through Thomas Partey only five minutes later. Following a poorly-cleared corner, Partey nodded the ball home from close range to score Arsenal’s first goal of the night.

The Gunners then doubled down on their attacks, finally scoring the equalizer in the 70th minute. Reiss Nelson’s precise cutback from the left channel of the box found Ben White, who made it 2-2 for the hosts.

Arsenal continued their relentless pressure on Bournemouth’s backline in the final 20 minutes. However, they had to wait until the 97th minute to finally break their opponents’ resistance.

A corner from Arsenal forced Bournemouth defenders to make another poor clearance. Nelson then rifled an unstoppable volley into the far post to complete his side’s sensational comeback.

The victory keeps Arsenal at the top of the table, maintaining their five-point lead over Manchester City.
