Let’s take a look at the player ratings of this EFL Cup encounter between Arsenal and Leeds at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal jumped into this EFL Cup round of 16 fixture against Leeds United following a 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League last week.

Whereas, Marcelo Bielsa’s side needed a touch of energy after their recent debacles in the domestic league. Although, the game against the Gunners opened great possibilities for them.

During the first half, the visitors harrassed the home side with some incredible opportunities. However, Mikel Arteta’s men pulled their socks up after the start of the second half.

Just after 10 minutes in the second half, Calum Chambers directed a header towards Leeds’ Illan Meslier who saved it. But, the attempt was labelled as a goal for Arsenal with the help of the goal-line technology.

Later in the 69th minute, Eddie Nketiah cleverly seized on a poor back pass from a Leeds defender and provided the finishing touch for the local lads.

Arsenal now move ahead into the last eight of the EFL Cup and boast as one of the favourites to win the silverware.
