Havertz scored again for the Gunners as they defeated Brighton on home soil.
Arsenal defeated Brighton 2-0 in their Premier League game on Sunday. Two second-half goals ensured the Gunners’ return to winning ways.
What happened?
Despite Brighton making a few attempts to score an early opener, Arsenal quickly established their dominance over the game as the first period went on. The Gunners came close to breaking the deadlock several times but couldn’t convert their chances.
After the break, however, it took Arsenal only seven minutes to find the back of the net. Gabriel Jesus received a deflected corner at the back post before heading it past the keeper to put Arsenal 1-0 ahead.
Brighton pushed hard to get out of Arsenal’s pressure but rarely managed to create serious goalscoring chances. The Gunners finally sealed their victory when Eddie Nketiah’s precise through pass found Kai Havertz behind Brighton’s backline. The German international rushed toward the goal before dinking the ball over Bart Verbruggen to make it 2-0 for the hosts.
