The Blues’ record signing Romelu Lukaku was on target in what turned out to be a comfortable evening for his side at the Emirates.

It took Romelu Lukaku only 15 minutes to break the deadlock in Sunday’s London derby and open his goalscoring account for Chelsea after returning to the club on a blockbuster £97.5 million move.

Lukaku, who made his first Chelsea debut almost a decade ago and finally scored his first goal for them in what was his 16th appearance for the club, made life difficult for the opposition defenders throughout the match with his excellent link-up play and hold-up ability.

Reece James was another standout performer. The 21-year-old full-back, who set up the former Inter Milan man for the opener, doubled his side’s lead five minutes after the half-hour mark by smashing the ball into the top corner of the net.

Thomas Tuchel’s men are with a perfect record in the 2021-22 Premier League campaign, and early signs show they are strong canditates to win the title.

As for Mikel Arteta’s side, disappointment was once on the menu as they remain pointless after two league outings.
