Germany continue their incredible winning streak under Hansi Flick.
Germany defeated Armenia with a 4-1 result in their last World Cup qualification game on Sunday. Die Mannschaft were already qualified before the match but added three more points to their tally.
Gundogan steals the show!
Germany started the game with dominance and got their first goal in the 15th minute. Kai Havertz converted Jonas Hoffman’s low cross from the by-line as he once again made an impact under Hansi Flick. A few minutes later, Ilkay Gundogan doubled the Germans’ lead as he slotted home a late penalty.
The Manchester City star scored his second goal of the night five minutes into the second half. The referee awarded a penalty just before the hour-mark, this time for the hosts.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan converted the penalty, but Armenia were too unfocused to mount a late comeback. Following a mistake by the Roma striker, Hoffman completed his performance by making it 4-1 for Germany.
Germany won Group J of the qualifiers with 27 points from their ten games. On the other hand, Armenia failed to qualify as they slipped to fourth on the group table.
