Ace Football presents detailed betting tips on the upcoming Primera Division matches of the weekend.

As we prepare for the first matchday of Primera Division’s second phase, our experts take a look at the bookmakers’ predictions for the upcoming games.

Let’s check out three betting tips for Matchday 1 of the Argentine top-flight.

Goals likely on both sides when Estudiantes host Gimnasia

Estudiantes finished the first phase by topping the Group B table, while Gimnasia finished fifth in Group A. The two sides will kick start their second-phase campaign by locking horns on Sunday.

We expect the hosts to have the upper hand in the upcoming game. Their attacking numbers have not been great in recent weeks, but they will most likely find the back of the net against Gimnasia’s out-of-form backline.

Despite their defensive struggles, the guests have enjoyed impressive attacking consistency in their recent matches. Having scored in their last nine clashes, we expect Gimnasia to also score in the upcoming game.

Expect goals when Platense meet Godoy Cruz

Platense ended the first round with a 2-1 defeat against River Plate, finishing 13th on Group A’s table. They must face Godoy Cruz in their first second-phase match on Saturday.

Platense’s consistent goal delivery convinces us they will find a lot of goalscoring chances against Godoy Cruz. However, the guests have also shown improvement in their attacking line recently.

They have scored in all of their last five games, winning only one game in the process. Based on the two sides’ defensive form, we expect to see more than two goals when they meet this weekend.

Don’t expect goals when Talleres take on Sarmiento

Talleres have shown brilliant form in Libertadores since ending the first half of the Primera Division.

After beating Sarmiento 1-0 in the first phase’s last game, they went on to make clean sheets against Sporting Cristal and Catolica in Libertadores.

Upon returning to their domestic league, Talleres must face Sarmiento again on home soil. Similar to what we saw in the two side’s last battle, we don’t expect any of them to go all-in with their attacks on Sunday.
