Let’s take a look at the player ratings from the Group G FIFA Women’s World Cup match at the FMG Stadium Waikato.

Sweden secured their spot as Group G winners with a 2-0 win over Argentina.

Despite the scoreline, Sweden struggled early on. They looked disjoint in a heavy-changed line-up and failed to create chances. This spurred some hope for Argentina, who entered the game with a fierce competitive drive. There was little to separate the teams in all.

In the second half, however, all that changed. Sweden took control with two match-winning goals. Rebecka Blomqvist nodded in a cross from Hanna Bennison to put the Swedes in front in the 66th minute. Then, in added time, substitute Elin Rubensson hammered in a second goal to seal a 2-0 victory.

The result gave Sweden nine points from three games, ensuring the top seed in Group G. Next up is the United States in a last-16 tie in Melbourne on Sunday. On the other side, Argentina are out of the World Cup. The South Americans only scored one point, leaving them with a fourth-place finish in the group.
