Fans have seen the likes of Johnny Knoxville and Logan Paul make a WWE run over the past year, so how would Ronaldo do if he ever fancied a go himself?
Apollo Crews has said he wouldn’t put it past a ‘world-class athlete’ like Cristiano Ronaldo being successful as a professional wrestler in WWE.
The legendary Portuguese footballer’s future is under a cloud after leaving Manchester United last month. Various reports have linked him with moves away from Europe. Following Portugal’s World Cup quarter-final exit, former teammate Patrice Evra even suggested he might quit the game.
“Honestly, with that mentality to be a top athlete in the world on that level, I think just on the mentality alone he would’ve done okay,” Apollo told Metro on Ronaldo’s chances of starring in WWE.
“When you start the physical part, that’s a different story though, for most people. But again, [he’s] a world-class athlete so I wouldn’t put it past him.”

The former Intercontinental Champion also weighed in on the speculation linking Ronaldo with a transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.
“It’s crazy, it’s not the way you wanna see a player, ’cause he’s 37, 38? I’ll say with confidence, I don’t think there’s gonna be any reviving of the career,” Apollo said of the ex-Real Madrid and Juventus striker’s future.
“He’s not gonna go to Saudi Arabia for two years and all of a sudden have a reviving of the career to come back. It’s tough to see that, the way it’s going. One of the things you don’t wanna see with such a player of high caliber.
“But it is what it is. As long as he gets to play the game, I guess it’s good. So, it’s unfortunate.”
