Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is lining up a move for Chelsea second-choice left-back Marcos Alonso, reports say.

Conte has developed a habit of signing the players at the fringes of their respective Premier League clubs. Manchester United and Chelsea, to be precise.

As such, the likes of Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez, and Romelu Lukaku left Old Trafford to join the Nerazzurri. Victor Moses did the same when he swapped Stamford Bridge for Lombardy last summer.

While the Nigerian returned to base after a season-long loan, his Chelsea companion, Marcos Alonso, could follow in his footsteps.

Indeed, the Italian wing-back could be the next in line to depart the Premier League for a lure of working with Conte.

As per the Daily Mail, the 51-year-old manager is targeting a reunion with Alonso at the Giuseppe Meazza.

The two enjoyed a prolific two-year spell in west London, helping Chelsea win the Premier League and the FA Cup.

Despite only recently bringing in Aleksandar Kolarov from AS Roma, Conte is still looking to add more competition to his well-stocked squad.

Out-of-favor full-back Dalbert returned to Inter following a year-long spell at Fiorentina. However, it should only be a brief stop, as he’s expected to move on before the deadline passes.

Dalbert’s departure should free up a slot for Alonso. The Spaniard’s future in London is hanging in the balance after the arrival of Ben Chilwell.

Lampard has splashed out £50million to sign the English left-back from Leicester and sees him as an upgrade to both Alonso and Emerson Palmieri.

The 29-year-old has a wealth of Serie A experience. Before joining Chelsea for £24million in 2016, he spent three years playing for Fiorentina.
