Ahead of Inter Milan’s upcoming Serie A match against Bologna, Antonio Conte spoke to the league about the team’s struggles this season.

Inter Milan ended last season with a near-title experience under Antonio Conte. The Italian manager has a great track record since he started his career afterlife as a professional footballer. Although he’s had some questionable moments at places like Chelsea, his stint at Inter has been positive for the most part. However, this season hasn’t been the follow-up he expected as the Nerazzurri haven’t been up to the standard they set last season.

In spite of this, Conte’s players are still fighting for the title and still alive in the UEFA Champions League. It’s only been a few moments of doubt throughout the campaign but Conte isn’t worried about them as much. Amongst all the noise surrounding the squad, Conte feels happy for the way most of his players have responded.

Conte is ready for another good season at Inter.

In an interview with Serie A’s official website, Conte revealed what he feels the proudest about the team: “The fact that we haven’t listened to outside voices and only focused on playing and trying to do our best. It’s inevitable that fatigue is an issue: we’ve played four matches in eleven days. We have, however, had an extra day to recover for our match against Bologna compared to our other games.

“This is undoubtedly the biggest challenge: we have to play important and decisive matches without a lot of time to prepare for them and recuperate.” We need to improve at home, even if it’s difficult to speak of home and away fixtures due to there being no fans: while our stadium is our home, the environment is different. That said, we need to try to be better.

“Results affect people’s judgments of what we’re doing. That said, we’re trying to improve in every respect, from our tactical organization through to our spirit, approach, and management of games. We work to constantly improve.”
