Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte talked about the club’s new summer signing during a press conference ahead of Serie A fixture.
Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte classified Achraf Hakimi as the most crucial signing of the transfer window. Evidently, the winger played against Benevento, and Nerazzurri won the game 5-2.
The 21-year-old joined Inter from Spanish giants Real Madrid. He played his first game against Fiorentina on Sunday. Consequently, the club won 4-3, as the Moroccan substituted for Ashley Young after 65 minutes.
Though, the youngster displayed a better performance on Wednesday. He assisted Romelu Lukaku’s goal, whereas scored one for himself.
Record breaker.
Hakimi now becomes the first Moroccan to score and assist in the first two league games for Inter. The last player who did so was Houssine Kharja in 2011.
Subsequently, Hakimi impressed Conte with his gameplay. Although, the boss says that there is still room for development.
“Hakimi is a player with great potential, he was born to make the fifth in midfield having important offensive propensities. He needs to improve in defense, playing with three central players enhances his qualities,” Conte told Sky Sport Italia.
“He is the important investment of this market, he must continue to work but he gave a good interpretation of the game. Let’s hope this continues.”
Hakimi admits to his good performance and promised to adapt to his new environment. Moreover, the winger believes that Inter can win the title this season. The men in blue and black lost to Juventus last season despite reigning the start of the season.
“I’m very happy with how I have adapted to the team. I still have to learn certain mechanisms, but I’m happy to be able to put my qualities in the service of the team. Some moves are similar to those I did in Dortmund, I have the skills to play in this position,” the former Borussia Dortmund player said.
“My teammates have helped me a lot, and I am learning quickly. The Scudetto? We are working on this, we a great team to fight for this goal. And we want to try. “
Also speaking about Hakimi, Inter center-back Milan Skriniar said: “Hakimi is very fast, good, attacking and defending. He is very good on the right. He will certainly give us a great hand.”
Inter will travel to Lazio on the weekend for a Serie A fixture.
