The highly-rated youngster is on the verge of leaving Old Trafford.
Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga is set to make a £15 million switch to Nottingham Forest.
Forest emerged victorious in a race against Premier League rivals Everton, Marseille, and West Ham for the Sweden international’s signature. According to Fabrizio Romano, the move is expected to be finalized this weekend, pending a medical in Nottingham.
The 21-year-old Elanga will conclude his nine-year association with Manchester United, where he made 55 appearances and scored four goals. It seems the homegrown star has found himself surplus to requirements under manager Erik ten Hag ahead of the next campaign.
Forest’s pursuit of Elanga comes after a relatively quiet start to the summer transfer window, but the club is now making significant moves in the market.
Former Chelsea prospect Ola Aina is also on the verge of completing a free transfer to Forest after undergoing a medical at the team’s training camp near Valencia, Spain.
In addition to the imminent arrival of Elanga, Forest is also progressing talks with Manchester United over a permanent deal for goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Forest manager Steve Cooper is keen to secure Henderson’s return to the City Ground following a successful loan spell last season. As of now, Forest has only one senior goalkeeper, making Henderson’s potential return even more crucial.
