The Spain international Ansu Fati agreed to new terms with Barcelona as the club adds a new buy-out clause for the forward.
The Spanish youngster Ansu Fati signed a new long-term deal with Barcelona on Wednesday. The contract includes a €400 million release clause according to Goal.
Fati agreed to the terms and conditions accordingly and will stay at the club till 2024. Evidently, we have seen the young Spaniard’s talent at the Camp Nou in the season 2019-20.
The 17-year-old had a deal until 2022. Although Barca convinced the striker to stay with the club by increasing his buy-clause from €230 million.
Fati will turn 18 on October 31. Thus, the Catalan club officially announced that he will play in the senior team. Barca expects a greater role from the youngster throughout the new season which began last weekend.
In 2019, Fati became the youngest Barca player to score in a 2-2 draw against Osasuna. Also, a week before, he became the second-youngest player to make a full debut. This was in a 5-2 victory over Real Betis on August 25.
The Spanish winger so far has made 42 appearances in all the competitions for Barcelona and netted 12 goals. In the meantime, he also starred for his national team with credible performance.
Furthermore, Fati also broke another record for the Spain national team. He scored two headers against Germany and Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League. That made him the youngest debutant for Spain in 74 years, right after Juan Errazquin in 95 years.
The challenge has been put up for Fati as Quique Setien was replaced by Ronald Koeman. The Dutch boss expects him to stay at his best game to compete for his position in the first team.
“I will continue working and the coach is the one who decides,” he told reporters. “I will train hard if I have the opportunity I will try to take advantage of it.”
Barca hosts Villareal on Sunday in their LaLiga opener. There will be eyes on the talented boy to prove a point of difference for the club.
This will be a great opening for Fati. This is because several players have left the club this season. Arthur, Nelson Semedo, Carles Perez, Marc Cucurella, Ivan Rakitic, and Arturo Vidal have departed. Whereas, star striker Luis Suarez is linked to a move to Atletico Madrid.
