Mbappe entered the Ligue 1 history books yet again after helping PSG bag an important victory ahead of the international break.

Kylian Mbappe surpassed Saint-Etienne’s Herve Revelli as the youngest player to score 100 goals in Ligue 1 at only 22 years and 91 days old.

The World Cup winner scored his 99th and 100th league goals on Sunday night to help Paris Saint-Germain defeat Lyon 4-2 at the Groupama Stadium. Danilo Pereira and Angel Di Maria were also on target.

“It was a good day to score the 100th league goal, as I knew I was two goals away,” Mbappe told Canal+.

“I wanted to score the goals in the previous game [a 2-1 defeat to Nantes] but instead of that, I gifted a goal to Kolo Muani so I needed to make up for that. It’s another stage in my career, another step into history.

“These are things that stay with you. The road continues, it has only just started. I still have many years left in front of me in order to perfect my game and to improve, and things can only get better.”

Mbappe reached the century mark in only 142 league games. He scored 16 goals for boyhood club AS Monaco before adding another 84 goals to his tally with PSG.

It didn’t all go smoothly for Mbappe, though. The 22-year-old had to leave the pitch in the second half due to a reported ankle problem, but it was only a precaution. He was later seen smiling in the dugout and is expected to be available for France over the international break.
