A number of Manchester United figures have set their sights on Europa League glory and midfielder Nemanja Matic is the latest to do so.

Nemanja Matic is looking forward to lifting silverware after United defeated Granada to advance to the Europa League semi-finals.

The Serbian put in a solid performance as the Red Devils went on to knock the Spanish side out via a 4-0 aggregate score.

United will now face Roma in the semi-finals as they aim to reach their first major final since 2018.

Mason Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes, and a number of Man United stars have expressed their desire to win the Europa League. Matic joins the list and says he is eager to face Roma and take one step further in search of silverware this term.

“I think it’s time to get to the final and win this trophy,”Matic said per the club’s website.

“But it’s going to be hard. We respect Roma, we know that they are a good squad with a good coach and a big club.

“It’s going to be interesting, but we have to believe in our qualities. We want to play in that big final and bring trophies to Old Trafford because this club deserves the best.”

Roma won’t come as an easy bunch, boasting the likes of top players like former Reds Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Chris Smalling, plus one-time Manchester City hero Edin Dzeko.

“It’s a big game, a big semi-final for us. We are very happy that we can play against a big club and top players” Matic added.

“I’m happy that we can compare our qualities against them in the semi-finals. We expect a very interesting game for the fans. We are ready and happy. We will see what we’re able to make [happen] in that semi-final.”
