A summer clear-out beckons at Arsenal as David Luiz is set to be joined by Willian out of the Emirates.

Willian is reportedly set to follow David Luiz out of Arsenal in the summer.

Despite signing a lucrative contract until 2023 on a free transfer from Chelsea last year, Willian has struggled to deliver.

The Brazilian only has one goal and seven assists in 37 appearances across all competitions to show for his Gunners career so far.

He has even lost favor under Mikel Arteta and is now more of a bench warmer than starter these days. This, especially with Willian’s reported salary of £192,308-per-week, was not what Arsenal signed up for.

So as the summer transfer window grows ever closer, the Gunners have put him on the market.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arteta’s side are open to offers for Willian amid interest from clubs in Europe and the MLS.

The David Beckham-owned Inter Miami, for one, were interested in him last year and could make another move.

But while open to playing in America one day, Willian recently stated that he hopes to continue in Europe.

“I intend to stay in Europe,” the winger told UOL when asked if he intends to return to Brazil back in February.

“Leaving Europe, going to another market. United States, I don’t know, another market. But we make plans, sometimes things can change.

“So today I reply to you that I don’t have this thought of playing in Brazil again.”

This report on Willian’s future comes just days after news of former Chelsea teammate Luiz’s own imminent departure.
