Mount has arrived at Old Trafford after an underwhelming season at Chelsea.

Former Manchester United star Andy Cole believes the club made the right decision to sign Mason Mount.

The Red Devils completed a £60m move for Mount earlier this summer, adding the versatile midfielder to their ranks ahead of the next season.

Mount was a crucial player for the Blues during their Champions League-wining campaign in 2020-21. However, his recent form and limited playing time at Chelsea have generated doubts among United fans over his potential.

Cole, however, believes the transfer could work out for both United and Mount.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the ex-United midfielder said“It’s a positive signing, of course it is. I think it’s positive and everything has worked out really well for him.

“He had a difficult season last season at Chelsea, he didn’t really play as many games as he would have liked.”

Mount made 35 appearances for Chelsea last season, registering three goals and six assists. The England international came close to signing a new deal at the club but decided to take on a new challenge at Old Trafford.

Cole added: “I’m hoping he can come to Manchester United and enjoy himself and bring Manchester United to the next stage where they need to be at.”
