The Denmark international revealed his hope for the pair during his official presentation as a new Barcelona player.
Andreas Christensen wants to play with former Chelsea teammates Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso at Barcelona for next season.
After a decade-long association with Chelsea, Christensen left the club at the end of his contract last month. The Dane has joined Barcelona for a free transfer. On Thursday, he signed a four-year contract, which includes a €500 million release clause, and was later unveiled to the fans and media in his new kit.
The 26-year-old Dane is Barca’s second summer signing after Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie.
Could two more Chelsea players be on their way?
In the last few months, reports have frequently linked Azpilicueta and Alonso to Camp Nou. The Spanish defenders both have a year left on their Chelsea contracts.
“I spoke to them and told them I was going to Barca,” Christensen said at a press conference. “They are great friends, and hopefully I can play with them.
“I haven’t met my teammates here yet, who have a lot of quality, but I do want to play with them again next season.”
Out to fullfill a childhood dream
During his presentation, Christensen revealed how he has dreamed of playing for Barcelona since the age of eight and discussed his role in the team.
“When I was eight, I wrote on a piece of paper that my dream was to play for Barca,” the Dane said.
On his role in the team, Christensen said: “My aim is to play every week. There is a healthy competition and there are some very good players on this team. I am looking forward to working with my new teammates.
“I think I’ll fit in well with the way Barca play. The way Barcelona play is the one I feel most comfortable with.”
“I have come to Barcelona to win trophies,” he added. “That is my main goal.”
