With Juventus’ visit to Parma right around the corner, Andrea Pirlo wanted to assess the match and their current physical situation.

With Juventus visiting Parma this weekend, Andrea Pirlo is already getting prepared to get back on the winning streak after their previous result. A draw against Atalanta wasn’t within the objectives for this Juventus side but the players weren’t lucky in front of goal. Despite this setback, Pirlo is confident in the team’s physical strength ahead of their next trip. Pirlo wanted to thoroughly analyze the upcoming rival and remind everybody they are still going to fight for the title until the end.

The Italian manager wasn’t happy after the result against Atalanta but he knows the players did their best in order to get that win. As things stand right now, Juventus is third in Serie A behind Inter and AC Milan. A victory would put them within a point from the top of the table, which is the reason beating Parma on Saturday is so important.

Pirlo hopes for a lively game at Parma.

“Parma are doing well,” Pirlo told Juventus TV. “Since they changed shape, they have been achieving positive and important results like in Genoa and Milan. They’re a team that are recovering, have a new coach and you must be careful, also because you play after three days and you will need to regain some physical and mental strength.”

“[I expect] a classic game where they will try to defend themselves and counter,” he said. “They have very fast players in the transitions, like Gervinho and [Yann] Karamoh. “You have to be very careful when you are in possession of the ball and then develop the game well. We are a bit angry because we played a good match against a great team and there’s regret for not having taken the many opportunities created, and that we didn’t manage to take home the three points.”

“We are physically well, and we proved it the other night against Atalanta,” he added. “We played more or less at the same level and, in fact, at times we were even superior physically. Yes, I don’t worry about this aspect, but when you play every three days, you must recover quickly.”
