Diouf is one of the most promising youngsters to come up through the Generation Foot academy.

Amara Diouf became the youngest player to have ever played for Senegal in their draw with Rwanda.

The Lions of Teranga qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations despite failing to beat Rwanda on Saturday. The game also marked the international debut of one of the country’s most-praised football talents.

Diouf replaced Cheikh Sabaly in the 71st minute as Senegal pushed to claim the match-winner. At 15 years and 94 days, he became the youngest debutant in the history of Senegal’s national team.

The teenager has attracted interest from a number of European sides. But it seems his first transfer to Europe is already sealed.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Diouf will join Metz, who have an agreement in place to sign him when he turns 18. The Ligue 1 side hope to have found the next Sadio Mane as they watch Diouf’s development closely.

A product of Generation Foot academy, Diouf has mainly played as a left winger. However, his versatility could ultimately see him switch to a new attacking position.

Following their draw against Rwanda, Senegal will host Algeria in a friendly match on Tuesday.
