The midfielder was key to Spurs’ attacking display in their emphatic Premier League victory the past weekend.
Dele Alli is “always attached to the game in every moment” says Eric Dier as he hails his teammate’s impact in Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Sheffield United.
Gareth Bale stole the headlines on Sunday for scoring a 33-minute hat-trick but Alli was also crucial to Spurs’ second successive win under interim manager Ryan Mason.
Playing the No. 10 role, he showed great positioning which made it a challenge for the Sheffield defenders to pick him up.
It was just the third Premier League start of the season for the 25-year-old, who had fallen out of favor under Jose Mourinho.
“From the inside I can tell you he’s been working really hard and trained really well, and against Sheffield United he put that on the pitch,” said Dier of Alli, via Football London.
“Everyone knows his qualities, but I think he also has a lot of qualities which go unnoticed. The amount of second balls he wins, the amount he runs for the team and presses.
“He’s always attached to the game, it’s like he’s on a string to the ball. He is always attached to the game in every moment and that’s a great quality to have.”
