Allan has singled out Richarlison as a key man to convince him to swap Napoli for Everton this summer.

Allan completed his £21million move to Everton earlier this month, putting pen to paper on a three-year contract. The Brazilian arrived at Goodison Park as one of Carlo Ancelotti’s priorities, alongside James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Well aware of Allan’s qualities, Ancelotti forced the club to bring in his former Napoli protégé.

The player turned down the prospect of linking up with Paris Saint-Germain. That’s because he wanted to reunite with the 61-year-old tactician.

The pair know each other from their time in Naples. The Italian manager had the opportunity to witness the Brazilian in action first hand.

Impressed with what he had seen, Ancelotti eventually managed to bring Allan to the blue side of Liverpool.

Before joining the Toffees, the 29-year-old had been one of the most highly-rated midfielders in Serie A. During his five-year spell at the San Paolo, Allan picked up 212 appearances, scoring 11 and assisting 16 times.

But, in addition to Ancelotti, another person played a vital role in persuading the midfielder to come to Everton.

The former Udinese man has now singled out Richarlison as the person he talked the most with before moving to the Premier League.

“I talk a lot with Richarlison when we’re together with the national team and, during the negotiations to come to Everton, he kept asking me, “When are you coming? We need you here – come here,” Allan said, as per the Daily Mail.

“To hear that from someone like Richarlison was really satisfying. It makes you feel that you’re important – that you’re wanted.

“That’s something I appreciate, and I’ll do everything to help him on the pitch.”
