Liverpool focused on one game at a time the last term without stressing over the eventual outcome and the plan is the same for this one, says Alisson Becker.

A much-awaited moment for Liverpool fans finally arrived last season when they witnessed their team lifting the Premier League trophy for the first time since 1990.

The Reds usurped Manchester City as champions, leaving them behind in the second place against a mammoth 18-point gap.

Only thrice were they found on the wrong end of the scoreline in the entire campaign as they remained more motivated and determined than ever to end their 30-year-long drought.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have maintained their momentum in the fresh league campaign, having won each of their two matches so far, and are expected to successfully defend their crown.

Alisson Becker, though optimistic that his side can win back-to-back titles, insists that Liverpool will refrain from thinking too much into the future.

“We have the potential and the quality to do that [win the title in succession],” said Alisson, speaking to Daily Star.

“We have to believe in ourselves and we know our quality and our goals but it depends how much we put on the pitch and in the game.

“Last season, we didn’t think about winning the title. We put 100 percent of our focus on the next game and the next challenge. This year, we will do that the same.”
