After enduring disappointment on all fronts last time out, the Reds goalkeeper has lofty ambitions for this term.
Alisson Becker wants to achieve quadruple success with Liverpool this season as he aims to help his side win the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, as well as the Carabao Cup.
Liverpool entered 2020-21 as strong favorites to win the Premier League but injuries to several key players ended up severely hampering their title retention dreams and they could only watch as Manchester City ran away with the crown.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez missed more than two-thirds of the previous campaign while Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip, and Diogo Jota, among a couple of others, also spent time on the sidelines.
But those players are fully fit now, and Jurgen Klopp’s men have made a strong start to the new season.
In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Alisson was asked if winning the league title is Liverpool’s main motive this season.
“I think it’s more than that – we want more,” the goalkeeper responded. “Of course, we want to win all the tournaments that we play.
“We want to win the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup – all the tournaments that it’s possible for us to play.
“This should be the target, for a team like us.”
