Liverpool wonder boy Trent Alexander-Arnold is the most influential right-back ever, according to ex-Premier League winner Graeme Le Saux.

Alexander-Arnold has been going from strength to strength since making his senior breakthrough at Anfield in 2016 under Jurgen Klopp.

Four years on, the 21-year-old is one of Europe’s best players in his position and arguably the most prolific wide defender in the Premier League.

In fact, four goals and 13 assists are off the scale for a player who plays so distant from the opposition goalkeepers.

Having featured in all 38 league fixtures for Liverpool this season, the English star has been named the 2019/20 TAG Heuer Young Player of the Season.

Alexander-Arnold has provided a tremendous contribution to the Reds’ first Premier League title in 30 years, and Le Saux tips the youngster to continue to deliver for the years to come.

“I can’t ever remember one player had such an influence on his team at right-back as Trent has on Liverpool, let alone from a 21-year-old,” he told the Premier League’s official website.

“He’s adding more goals to his game. His assists record is second to none among defenders. I can see him continuing to improve in the environment he is playing in at Liverpool.”

Despite his young age, Alexander-Arnold has managed to stand out in a squad already jammed-full of world-class talents.

As things stand, the sky is the limit for the brightest English prospect should he continue to work hard under Klopp.
