Manchester United new boy Alex Telles revealed he held talks with Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot before his big move.
Telles completed a deadline-day €15m transfer to Manchester United on Monday evening following an impressive four-year spell with FC Porto.
The Brazilian left-back is expected to provide some much-needed competition for Luke Shaw. His arrival, in fact, came shortly after Dalot left for AC Milan on loan, with Chris Smalling also leaving on a permanent transfer to AS Roma.
Now Telles has revealed how a chat with Portuguese pair Dalot and Fernandes helped him decide on an Old Trafford switch.
“I spoke to Diogo and he sent me a message to wish me good luck,” Telles told the club’s website.
“United is a big club and I want to help United grow as a football club.
“I believe I’m going to meet a marvelous group. I’ve spoken to Bruno Fernandes and he’s said how welcoming the boys are. I believe I will settle very well into the group.”
